TLP is a national non-profit organization. In 2007 I was invited to participate on a project to renovate a city park at Arkansas and 21st streets in Potrero Hill. I worked with students from the Downtown High School who designed ceramic medallions, which were placed in the pathway of the park. I also made ceramic donor tiles (you can see in the distance of middle image). This was a whole new venture for me, as I had to follow stringent city codes!
It was a great learning experience to work with so many other people on this project. One of my favorites is the famous Laurel True, of True Mosaics. Together with youth from the local community we created a mosaic bench. Many thanks to Jennifer Worth at TLP, kids from Potrero Hill neighborhood House, kids from DTHS, and Andrew Kontrabeki.
